Theme Song for ‘Hermann Goring Hitler’s Second-in-Command’

The theme song I picked for my book is called ‘Holy Wars’ by Megadeth. This song represents my book because it talks about war, and that is kind of what the Holocaust was. My book, it talks about Hermann Goring partnered with Hitler to kill Jews. This is like the song because in a war many people are killed and in the song, it talks about people dying. I thought this book was pretty interesting. I thought this because to learn about someone that wanted to do these bad things with Hitler was a different standpoint. I was surprised he killed himself, instead of waiting for his death. I learned more about how the Holocaust was started with Hitler and Hermann.

Erin Marie Saltman – Ted Talk

Erin Saltman manages facebook’s counterterrorism and counter-extremism policy work for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. She is a reliable source. I know this because she has a page that says she is reliable. In the Ted Talk, she starts by talking about how she went to a camp. this made her ask the question “Why do people want to join violent extremist movements?” She says that people think these people are naturally violent people. One thing that she brings up about the people that join these groups are push and pull factors. The push factors are alienation, isolation, identity questions, feeling that your group is under attack, and feeling that larger powers aren’t doing anything to stop it. The pull factors are brotherhood/sisterhood and belonging, spiritual purpose; making a utopia, and empowerment. She also says that the internet is a reason that people have these ideas and join these groups. This relates to my book because the Holocaust technically had a terrorist group that killed a bunch of people. Yes, the internet was not a reason for this but the people that joined these groups joined it because of push and pull factors. For example, Hermann Goring joined because Hitler was going to put him into power. Something that stuck out to me was when she said that the internet is a prime source, I never would have thought that’s what pushes people.

Structural Elements in ‘Hermann Goring Hitlers Second-in-Command’

At the beginning of the book, the chapter titled ‘World War 1 and Aftermath’, there is a zoom in where they only talk about Hermann Goring. It talks about how he went to a military school to become a lieutenant. It continued talking about how he was wounded in the war and was sent home. Then it says that his friend talked to him about the new German air force, so Goring became a pilot like his friend. It says that “Goring proved to be a natural pilot, though, and was decorated for bravery several times.” Later on, it zooms out and talks about Hitler and Goring working together. For example, “Goring was soon under the sway of the magnetic Hitler.” It talks about how he swore an oath of loyalty to Hitler. Also, it says that Hitler and Goring captured the heads of the Bavarian Government and proclaimed a new German state.

Hermann Goring Preens for Charles Lindbergh

Hermann Goring was a former fighter pilot. In the article, he is described as a “pot-bellied man”. Also, Goring is described as the second most powerful man in Germany, next to Aldof Hitler. Goring, helping out Hitler, was shot in the leg. That is when he became addicted to morphine and codeine. Goring met with Lindbergh and he questioned him about his time in the air. He had to meet with Lindbergh to show him his planes from the German air force. Goring had a pet lion, and when he was showing the lion to Lindbergh it urinated on him. This was not a good situation because he was wearing a white suit. Lindbergh and his wife started laughing and turned away pretending to look at the paintings. Goring had to go clean up and returned to show Lindbergh pictures of a different military airfield. Lindbergh later wrote down that “Germany was preparing for war”. Before leaving Lindbergh helped make a report that says the Nazi air force was more advanced than the U.S. This is important because it talks about Hermann Goring who is the main character in the book I am reading.

Author’s Purpose and Credibility

I think the Fred Ramen’s purpose in writing the book, Hermann Goring Hitler’s Secon-in-Command, is to inform and persuade the readers. I know this is the purpose because there are facts about Hermann Goring. It is also to persuade the readers that he is a bad person. the readers because he using words that make it seem like he was a bad person The impact that Fred Ramen wants to leave on the world is to give facts on Hermann Goring with Hitler. For example one of the facts that inform the reader on Hermann Goring is, “In 1928, Goring became one of the ten Nazi members of the Reichstag.” This is a fact that informs someone because it is a true fact about Hermann Goring. Another fact that is meant to inform the readers is, “Goring was rewarded for his hard work with the position of minister of the Prussia, the largest German state, comprising about two-thirds of Germany.” One of the more persuasive facts is, ” Under Goring’s guidance, the two most important, and most terrifying, parts of the Nazi Terror were also established: the Gestapo and the concentration camps.” This is persuasive because it is trying to show that Goring is a horrible person by using the words “most terrifying”. The author, Fred Ramen, is credible. He has written other books that are related to the Holocaust.

Claims in Hermann Goring Hitler’s Second-in-Command

The first claim I found in my book is on page 37 and it stated, “The Nazis rampaged throughout Germany.” A piece of evidence that supports this claim is, “…breaking into Jewish stores, businesses, and synagogues, smashing their windows, and beating or killing any Jews they could find.” Another claim I found in my book was on page 40 and it stated, “The opposition had been crushed, and Hitler was an absolute master of the country.” A piece of evidence that supports this is, “In 1938, pro-Nazi groups, with the aid of the Germans, seized power in Austria, and shortly thereafter Hitler proclaimed the Anschluss, or unification, of Austria and Germany. Again, Britain and France, fearful of starting another world war, did nothing. I thought the first claim was very upsetting, I say this because the Nazis killed and destroyed the Jews. I thought the second claim would be upsetting for the Jews because they know that Hitler is a bad person and he is killing all Jews.

About ‘Hermann Goring Hitler’s Second-in-Command’

Intro to ‘Hermann-Hitler’s Second-in-Command’

I am reading the book Hitler’s Second-in-Command. So far it is about Hermann Goring’s life and how he in relations to Hitler. Hermann was a lieutenant in the German army, he was wounded badly and had to go home to recuperate. While he was at home, he became a pilot. Eventually, he met Hitler and was under his control. Now that he would do everything that Hitler says, he was doing everything in his power to make sure Hitler would be in full power. Hermann was elected president of Reichstag, which gave him a lot of power. He used this power to convince Hitler to become chancellor. Finally, Hitler was chancellor of Germany. Not too long after this happened Hitler was in control of all Germany. Hermann and Hitler were making concentration camps and taking people at night to them. I think this book is very upsetting because of what they are doing to people that haven’t done anything. I think that it’s very unfair. This reminds me of books that I have read that are about dictatorship because Hitler is technically a dictator and is having everyone do what he says.
